Paraffin Candle vs. Soy Wax Candle

The difference in selecting your candles wisely

Why choose soy wax candles over paraffin candles? Why is it important for yourself, the pets, and the environment?

Cons of Paraffin Wax Candles:

  • Made from Petroleum
  • Emits harmful gases
  • Emits black soot
  • Does not clean up easily
  • Contains carcinogen compounds (cancer causing agents)
  • Not biodegradable
  • Made from a limited source (non-renewable)

Paraffin is a common ingredient in many candles today, including some candles labeled as “Soy Wax Candles.” In many cases, these are actually soy wax blends that contain paraffin.

At Ariana’s Essential Products, we use 100% 464 Soy Wax—a vegetable-based wax that is non-toxic, all-natural, and made from a renewable source. Soy wax burns cleanly and is also easy to remove when it’s time to clean your candle jar or vessel.

Because soy wax is biodegradable and environmentally friendly, we’re proud to choose it for our candles. We also encourage you to give your candle jar a second life! Once your candle is finished, clean out the remaining wax and reuse the jar for another purpose around your home.
