Paraffin Candle vs. Soy Wax Candle

Posted by Ariana Horvath on

What are the benefits of Soy Wax?

Soy wax candles are generally well-known these days, but why choose soy wax candles over paraffin candles? Why is it so important for yourself, the pets, and the environment?

Cons of Paraffin Wax Candles:

  • Made from Petroleum
  • Emits harmful gases
  • Emits black soot
  • Does not clean up easily
  • Contains carcinogen compounds (cancer causing agents)
  • Not biodegradable
  • Made from a limited source (non-renewable)

Paraffin is a common ingredient in most candles nowadays and can even be found in candles that are labeled as a "Soy Wax Candle" because it is a soy wax blend (with paraffin). Ariana's Essential Products uses 100% 464 Soy Wax which is a vegetable based wax that is non-toxic and all natural. It burns clean and is also easy to physically clean once you're done burning the candle. Soy wax is biodegradable and made from a renewable source. Our company loves environmentally friendly options and we strongly recommend cleaning your candle jar or vessel and reusing the jar for another purpose in your household.
